Author Guidelines

The purpose of Jurnal Teknologi dan Sistem Tertanam is to publish original research articles in computer engineering and system, with emphasis on the relevant computing science theory and its applications. Articles may deal with such subjects as computing algorithms, embedded systems, processor design, sensor networks, and internet of things. Articles sent to editors have never been published or are not being submitted for publication in other publications. The author who submits a manuscript must understand that if accepted for publication, the copyright of the article belongs to author.

PREPARING YOUR MANUSCRIPT

The editor of JTST welcomes article submissions in accordance with the following guidelines:

  1. Articles have not been published or accepted for publication, or are being considered for publication elsewhere. In addition to the manuscript, a written statement should be attached which clarifies that the article is original and does not contain any elements of plagiarism.
  2. Types of articles suitable for publication include the following; research reports (laboratory, field, archives), conceptual ideas, studies, theory applications. 
  3. Articles are written in Indonesian or English (preferable) using academic language along with standard academic writing structure and composition. Manuscripts are typed 1,5 spaced in a quarto paper size (A4), between 6-8 pages in length including references, pictures, and tables.
  4. The article should be in form of an essay which includes:
    • title (max. 12 words),
    • author’s name (without academic degree) with an institution’s name and address,
    • abstract in English and Indonesian (150-200 words for each) which includes; an introduction, methods, findings and discussion, research implication to both empirical and conceptual,
    • keywords in English and Indonesian,
    • author’s personal information and e-mail address for the corresponding author,
    • introduction which includes background and objectives with an emphasis on items to be discussed in section end.
    • method which includes literature reviews/ theoretical construct (if needed) of the research.
    • result and discussion,
    • conclusion, and
    • references.
  5. The reference list format is based on IEEE style. The reference list should appear at the end of the article and includes only literature actually cited in the manuscripts. References must be written in the order in the article, using Arabic numerals in square brackets, as shown in the example. When writing a reference list, please use the following conventions:

The editor appreciates if authors excerpt information from previously published articles in JTST.

Articles should be submitted in soft files using Microsoft Word application to the Online Submission page.

Authors will be sent notifications of the receipt of manuscripts and editorial decisions (whether the articles are accepted or not) by e-mail. Manuscripts that are not published will not be returned to the authors.

ARTICLE SUBMISSION INSTRUCTION

Submitting the manuscript should be done by Online Submission System in the JTST electronic portal, with the following steps:

  1. The author must register on the Register page. Select (check) the role of "Author" to be able to submit a manuscript online.
  2. After the registration process is complete, enter (log in) as "author" using the username (username) and password (password) at the time of registration.
  3. Start sending articles by clicking "New Submission". The article submits stages consist of five stages, such as:  (1). Start, (2). Upload Submission, (3). Enter Metadata, (4). Upload Supplementary Files, (5). Confirmation.
  4. In the "Start" column, select "Journal Section (Article)". Check all the options in the "Submission Checklist" and "Copyright Notice". Click "Save and continue".
  5. In the "Upload Submission" column, upload the manuscript in MSWord format. Click "Save and continue".
  6. In the "Enter Metadata" columns, fill out all the author data and affiliation. Following the Journal Title, Abstract and Indexing Keywords. Fill in the References column according to the list of references listed in the manuscript. The manuscript will not be processed if the author is not entered in full as stated in the manuscript. Click "Save and continue".
  7. In the "Upload Supplementary Files" column, the author can upload other supporting files such as evidence of ethical clearance, research questionnaires, dataset, or other material that supports article research. Click "Save and continue".
  8. In the "Confirmation" column, if all the data filled in is correct, click "Finish Submission" and the author will receive a Submission Acknowledgment (proof of submission) by e-mail.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Autor Guidelines,  which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a single Blind Review have been followed.
